Looks like teams in Division 2 can expect a long season once they add in cup ties. The other 3 divisions look good numbers wise.

before the divisions were agreed the teams were asked if any of them wanted a move, one team up to Div 1 and one team down to Div 3, to even things up, but there were no takers.
Every team that registers with SERYFA at U-13 level is given the choice of what division they feel their team is best suited to compete in. Unfortunately a high number of them chose Div 2, and, when given the chance to move, none of them took the opportunity.
The Division 2 teams season will now consist of 26 league matches, and a minimum of 1 Scottish, 1 Region, 2 Open, and 2 Division Cup matches. A minimum total of 32 matches. Some will play more as they progress through the cups.
It could be a long hard season for some teams.

Spartans showing ambition to match their facilities - not!!! (as per last season 2nd & 4th division teams). With all the kids at their disposal you would think they would try and match the big guns with a view to becoming a big gun.

cant really comment on Spartans 98 teams as I've not seen any of them play, but their 97 teams are probably in the right divisions to suit their level. Last seasons 2nd Div team, Whites I think, really struggled up there and have dropped into the 3rd this season, but their Reds 2nd Div team done OK, didn't win the division but gave a good account of themselves. Got to the LB Cup final which is good going.

Dont quite understand the point. Are you suggesting getting different kids in to replace the ones who have been with Spartans for 7 years and bring in better just to be more like " The big teams" if so you dont understand the Spartans ethos of trying to keep lads playing football no matter what the level. The facilities are there hopefully to make the players and coaches improve, but that will take time. I measure success on how many kids get the chance to wear the Spartans badge not by switching kids in and out just to win trophies.

Surely the ethos of Spartans Youth Section should be aligned to that of the Senior, Junior, Ladies and U19's EoS teams in that there needs to be a desire to achieve in order to gain entry to the SFL, Superleague etc. etc. I think there are too many dinosaurs around Ainslie who remain brainwashed with legacy Inverleith Star rantings.
Your suggestion that it takes time to improve players and coaches seems contradictory, improve for what end? to be able to compete and win trophies I guess, therefore the wearing of the badge drivel doesn't quite wash does it?

All the teams you mention are adult teams and we are working with kids who are just starting playing competitive 11 a-side football, so i guess the answer to the question you did not answer is YES, get new players in every year and get rid of ones who cant win you trophies, rather than develop the ones who are loyal to you and the club. As for dinosours they are the ones that got youth football in the mess it is in now, taking all the other teams kids to replace there own and playing win at all cost football with little thought on the effect on others. Yet still they fold every year, HV 96 are a perfect example took players from all over, now that some of them show no loyalty teams now folding. Dont want to run a team like that.
